I’m so excited to share today’s Day in the Life post! I stumbled upon #TheImperfectBoss campaign just over a year ago and immediately fell in love with the mission behind it and creator Ashley Beaudin.
Ashley is a breath of fresh air in the online world and challenges women to share the truth and honesty about what it’s really like to run a business, which I’m clearly all about, hence this very series!
She was one of the first people on my list to reach out to and I was so thrilled she agreed to be featured.
I can’t wait for you to read. I hope you enjoy!

Day In The Life: Ashley Beaudin of #TheImperfectBoss
Yay! I am so excited to share what a day looks like for me in my business. I am definitely not your conventional entrepreneur in the way that I work and so I am a huge fan of owning who you are and the ways that work for you. I am also all about imperfections. Because you know what? That’s real life.
By the way, if we haven’t met, my name is Ash! I am a heart encourager and movement maker to women on a mission and I also run a social media movement called The Imperfect Boss. I am going to share with you what a typical day looks like.
I am full-time in this business and I am also single with no kids or pets or significant other, so I don’t have anyone else to take care of, but me. Sometimes that’s an amazing thing, but sometimes that is also a lonely thing, and work takes up a lot of my time because I’ll be real with you, it distracts me from how much time I actually spend alone. 😉
I am going to show you an example of a day in my life. Ready? Here we go.
10:00 to 11:00 am
I wake up. I am by far a late-riser. And I don’t really use an alarm clock. I am all like, “I didn’t get into business, so I couldn’t sleep in.” You know what I’m saying?
I start all my days with a whiteboard. I need to write out everything I need to do that day and it needs to be on a whiteboard. There is something for me about my to-do list magically disappearing after I do it. Then, I get right to work.
11:30 to 1:00 pm
This is where I get a lot of work done, I’ll probably always focus on content at the beginning of the day. I will do all the posting I need to do and responding. I’ll answer emails, Facebook messages, and post on Instagram and in my Facebook group. I do schedule social media for Twitter, but I tend to wing it more on the others. I really enjoy doing things in the energy of the moment. I also am an avid empty-inbox person.
1:00 to 1:30pm
Lunch time! I’m really into sandwiches right now, so that is probably happening.Check out what a day in the life is like for movement maker & #theimperfectboss creator @ashleybeaudin! #dayinthelife #ditl Click To Tweet
1:30 to 5 pm
Phone calls! Tuesdays, I do connection calls to network with other creatives. Wednesdays, I do discovery calls for people who are working with me one on one to craft a movement for their brand, and Thursdays I do client calls where I jam about movements with people. I love these because I love getting to meet, know and support people. Also from time to time, I am able to host classes and teach a bunch of students which lights me right up.
5:00 to 7:00pm
I work on everything else! Whether that means writing movement making plans for my clients, hanging out in my Facebook group, writing sales funnels or sales pages for my brand, brainstorming new ideas, or sending pitches for my The Imperfect Boss movement, I make it all happen. A big hack for me is that I work at the mall food court because it gets me super productive.
7:00 to 9:00 pm
In the evenings, it really depends on the day! Sometimes I’ll go out for dinner or to the movies with friends and sometimes I’ll continue to work on things.
9:00 to 11:00 pm
This is when I start my self-care routine. It is pretty involved for me. I spend time journaling, taking care of my body and using an oil diffuser. It fills me right back up for the next day!
Then at this point, I try not to stay up too late. But I often find myself going to sleep between 1:00 to 2:00 am. Night owl to the extreme.
I love being a creative entrepreneur for the freedom and the opportunity to do what I love and impact as many people as I can. Thanks for stopping in on my day with me!
